At Charles River Laboratories, science is deeply personal. The global team is passionate about improving the quality of people’s lives. That passion drives their life-changing scientific research and work.

Across their 100+ facilities in more than 20 countries, Charles River supported the development of 85% of the drugs approved by the FDA in 2019. 2020 brought a new demand: COVID-19. Right here at Charles River’s Reno facility, the team is working on a number of COVID-19 vaccines providing scientific support for the safety and clinical phases of drug development.

Recently, the Reno facility received Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification expanding the site’s clinical support services to certify the lab, analyze blood samples, and provide broader diagnostic testing.

Additionally, the site is now offering a Real Time PCR test, one of the most accurate COVID-19 diagnostic tests available to the public.  The main advantages of this test are its rapid results identifying individuals who are displaying symptoms of infection as well as those that are asymptomatic.

Finding effective COVID-19 treatments requires collaboration at new levels. Whether across the globe or across the hall, individuals and businesses are joining forces, sharing ideas, and working together to find the solutions we need. Inside Charles River, this couldn’t be more true. While collaboration is a core value at Charles River, its importance has taken on new meaning in the past year. Only together do we continue to make a global impact, right here in Reno.
While Charles River is hiring at every point along the drug discovery and development continuum, there is a particular need for the following roles here in Reno: Animal Care Assistant, Research Technician Assistant, Medical Technician, Research Assistant (Laboratory Sciences), and Veterinary Technician.
